Akaka Falls State Park continued
The park is a favorite spot to shoot photographs of the falls, as well as scenic streams framed by forests of bamboo and other lush foliage. At the park’s entrance, there are restroom facilities and picnic benches, an ideal place to have a snack, although the waterfalls are not in sight from this vantage point.
Central Honomu is a classic old plantation town, a grand total of two blocks long, with some interesting little shops and old-fashioned sundry stores, where you can pick up souvenirs and perhaps a picnic lunch to enjoy at the state park.
