In a Land Called Hanalei
Back in the 1960s, a well-known folk trio, Peter, Paul and Mary, wrote "Puff the Magic Dragon," a song that became a national hit. Their tale of a little boy and his friend, Puff, takes place in a magical land called Hanalei. The songwriters' inspiration for this realm is on Kauai's North Shore. A vibrant region surrounded by lush countryside, it's easy to see why the name "Hanalei" sparked the songwriters to such flights of fancy.
