Haleiwa, Surf City USA continued:
Anahulu Bridge, commonly called Rainbow Bridge, is an 80-year-old Haleiwa landmark. Built in an era when vehicles were much narrower, crossing the bridge can be a harrowing experience. Savvy drivers know to wait before entering when trucks or buses are coming through. Occasionally, the less prudent end up wedged expensively between a wall of this rugged gauntlet and another vehicle.
Colorful fish signs and Sarapes wave in the breeze in front of Surf N Sea ocean sports store. Haleiwa hosts a wide range of surf-wear boutiques, water sports and surfboard shops, high-end art galleries, road-side souvenir stands and eateries from fine dining to lunch wagons.
